The Centre Rules prescribe that an arbitrator will take up a case within 5 working days from the date of appointment. In calculating this period of 5 days, any time used in resolving challenges to arbitrators is excluded. The final award of the arbitrator will be rendered by the arbitrator within a period of 15 working days from the date of start of proceedings, excluding time required for any challenge to the authority of an arbitrator.
