Veena is a 1999 graduate from NLSIU Bangalore with 20 years of experience in Real Estate, Infrastructure and Property Laws and laws relating to the rights of women at the workplace. She has worked with Toyota Kirloskar Motor Limited , Chambers of Vivek Chandy, AZB and Partners, Bangalore and Poovayya and Co and currently runs her own practice. 


Veena has I worked as a litigation lawyer where she has appeared before the City Civil Court, the High Court of Karnataka, the CESAT (Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal, formerly known as the Customs, Excise and Gold (Control) Appellate Tribunal), the Family Court, the Criminal Court and the Consumer Court.


Veena has advised IT Companies, manufacturing units, FMCG Companies, hotel chains, factories, liaison and branch offices of foreign companies on various aspects relating to lease of office spaces, stand-alone buildings, IT complexes and lands and properties conveyed by government entities such as the KIADB. She has also advised entities on the lease of greenfield spaces. The scope of her advice includes title certification, certification of statutory approvals, drafting, negotiation and finalisation of documentation including Letters of Intent, Agreements to Lease, Lease Deeds, Indemnities, Guarantees, (bank guarantees and corporate guarantees) etc. She also advises funds and investors who seek to invest in real estate and infrastructure entities, entities seeking to purchase lands for residential, commercial and industrial project and clients who seek to acquire the business undertaking of third-party entities/companies.

 

Veena is an external member of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of various multinational and local companies and entities. She has handled cases filed by women employees of such companies under the provisions of the Sexual Harassment (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act). 


Veena has successfully attended and completed the CADRE Certified Arbitrator program.
